SFS PU College, Hebbagodi, conducted a Faculty Development Program on 24 th May 2025, aimed at enhancing the teaching methodologies, teamwork, and goal-oriented planning among the teaching staff. The session was conducted under the insightful guidance of Dr. Sam, who spearheaded the entire program with great enthusiasm and clarity.

Topics Discussed
The program revolved around three key themes that are essential for modern effective education:

1. Theory of Change
Dr. Sam began the session by introducing the Theory of Change - a framework that helps educators understand how and why a desired change is expected to happen. He emphasized the importance of setting long-term goals and working backward to identify necessary preconditions and strategies, thereby connecting daily teaching practices to broader institutional outcomes.

2. Realise Generation
This segment focused on the importance of recognizing the unique needs, aspirations, and learning styles of the present generation of learners. Dr. Sam encouraged the staff to remain updated with modern teaching tools and foster deeper connections with students to bridge generational gaps. The emphasis was on empathy, adaptability, and meaningful engagement in the classroom.

3. Building Blocks of Action - Adding Minutes to Teaching
One of the most practical takeaways from the session was the idea of making a big difference by dedicating a few extra minutes to each teaching session. Dr. Sam highlighted how small, consistent efforts - such as brief reflections, personal interactions, or skill-focused extensions - could enhance student learning outcomes and engagement levels.

Interactive Activities & Team Building
To reinforce the discussed concepts, Dr. Sam conducted a series of interactive activities that brought out the significance of unity, cooperation, and collective action. These group tasks were not only fun and engaging but also conveyed powerful messages on how synergy among faculty members can lead to the achievement of institutional goals more effectively.

Key Takeaways & Management Initiatives
Towards the end of the session, Dr. Sam outlined several benefits and initiatives that the management intends to offer to the staff as part of their commitment to professional development and well-being. This included support for further training, infrastructural enhancements, and recognition of teacher contributions.

The program concluded on a pleasant and motivational note, leaving the staff inspired and aligned with the vision of the institution. Dr. Sam's words instilled a sense of purpose and belonging, encouraging everyone to work collaboratively towards holistic educational excellence.
